Introducing eMSS 2007-08
eMSS was developed to empower the next generation of math teachers by providing content-focused
mentoring through a national, online technology network. Through eMSS, new and veteran teachers –
as well as working content expert – collaborate in an interactive community to facilitate the exchange
of information, ideas, and experiences to advance high-quality math instruction for all students.
Important modifications and improvements are being made to eMSS in 2007-08, including:
-
Migration to a new technology platform called CLE (Collaborative Learning Environment)
that is more scalable and is easier to use and navigate
- Improvement to the mentor
development portion of eMSS, including the addition of a mentor certification program
eMSS is well on its way to becoming one of the nation’s largest mentoring networks of secondary math teachers.
Since its inception in 2002, eMSS membership has grown to over 500 mentee and 350 mentor science teachers in
16 states nationwide. For more information on eMSS see Program Overview.
